Mobile auto glass around Lake Norman is what this site is for. Impex Auto Glass is based at 5641 David Cox Rd in Charlotte, and its mobile service brings windshield replacement, chip repair, door and back glass and camera calibration to the car. Because the technician comes to you, where the car is parked matters more than how far it is from the shop. This page lists the towns the van covers on this side of the city and what to know about each.

Every service is available in every town listed: mobile windshield replacement, mobile windshield repair, side and back glass, and forward camera calibration after a new windshield.

North Charlotte
Impex’s Charlotte shop is on David Cox Rd, on the north side of the city, so the mobile service starts on its own doorstep. Homes, apartment complexes and office parks across north Charlotte are covered, out to where I-485 meets I-77 at exit 19. The full visit is explained on the mobile windshield replacement page.
Huntersville
About 14 miles north of Uptown, Huntersville runs from the Charlotte line to Cornelius, between Mountain Island Lake on the southwest and Lake Norman on the northwest. I-77 exits 23 (Gilead Road) and 25 (NC 73, for Birkdale Village) are the main ways in.
Cornelius and Davidson
Cornelius sits on the lake at exit 28, Catawba Avenue, where the I-77 Express Lanes narrow from four lanes to two. Davidson, its neighbor to the north and east, grew up around Davidson College and is reached at exit 30, Griffith Street. Both share NC 115 as Main Street.
Mooresville
Over the Lake Norman Causeway, Mooresville spreads across southern Iredell County from Langtree Road (exit 31) to NC 150 (exit 36), where the express lanes end. Lake Norman lies 3 to 8 miles west of the town center.
Denver, on the west side of the lake
Denver is the one town on this list across the water. It lies west of Lake Norman in Lincoln County, about 25 miles north of Uptown Charlotte, and is a census-designated place rather than an incorporated town: it was a town from 1877 until 1971, when it gave up its charter. The 2020 census counted 2,697 people in the Denver census area. NC 16 runs through as ‘Old 16’ with a bypass beside it, and NC 150 meets NC 16 at the town’s northwest corner. NC 150 is also the road that links Denver with Mooresville and I-77 exit 36.
Lakeside homes in and around Denver often sit on lots that slope toward the water. For a windshield, the car needs a level, firm spot; a garage, a flat stretch of driveway at the top of the lot or a level street nearby all work. Tell Impex what the parking looks like when you book, and whether the car can sit under cover, and the visit can be planned around it.

Three short steps: the damage, your vehicle and how to reach you. Impex comes back with a quote and a time for the visit.

Home or work: picking the spot
Many drivers in these towns commute on I-77, so the car spends the day in one place and the night in another. Either can be the spot for a visit. A workplace lot in north Charlotte or Huntersville lets the job happen while you work; a driveway in Davidson, Mooresville or Denver suits a day at home. What matters is a level space, room around the car, dry glass and, on private lots, permission. Impex lists no-contact service options, so you do not need to stand by the car while the technician works.
If neither place works, for example a steep lakeside driveway and an open office lot on a wet day, Impex can suggest a third spot or a different time, and the Charlotte shop on David Cox Rd is there for calibrations that need level, covered ground.
What a visit needs, wherever you are
- A level, firm spot with room to open both front doors fully.
- Dry glass: a garage, carport or covered deck if rain is due.
- Permission where the lot is private: an office park, an apartment complex, a marina or a shopping center.
- The vehicle’s VIN, which Impex uses to order the right part.
- A phone number for the day, so the technician can reach you on arrival.
Impex describes its mobile service as covering all of North Carolina, as well as all of South Carolina and parts of Georgia. If your address is outside the towns on this page, call anyway: Impex will say how and when it can get to you.
